LEADER'S FIELD GUIDE
Let’s reflect on the Leader’s Field Guides from 2021Q4. As we focus on “momentum”, how can you continuously recharge while driving forward?
It’s time for a review! Reflect on 2021Q4 and consider what you’ve incorporated into your leadership and what needs more attention. Think about how each topic challenges you to reflect on your drive and motivation over the last three months. What role are energy levels and focused action playing? How can you enhance your influence through constant refreshment and sustainable motion? Let the following recap of the Leader’s Field Guide remind you of the lessons from this quarter. Using the lens of momentum, what overarching goal will you set for 2022Q1?
- Technology Trauma: We discussed how genuine interest, compassion, and friendship are key to true leadership. (Mark 2:2-4, Mark 2:5, 10, & 11)
- Slaying Dragons: We reflected on the importance of being prepared and asking questions, diffusing situations with humor, and setting priorities while being realistic. (Luke 4:10, Psalms 91:9-11)
- Out of the Cave: We highlighted the value of interventions leading to rest, faith, and help despite the temptation to hide in excuses. (1 Kings 19:9-10, 1 Kings 19:12-13)
- Road Trip!: We brainstormed about the importance of representing our organization, describing our edge, and forecasting our milestones. (Luke 9:3, 6, Luke 9:1, 2)
- Catching Your Breath: We focused on the importance of maintaining perspective, being flexible, conserving energy, and being patient. (Exodus 14:14, Psalms 27:14)
- That’s NOT in the Brochure: We learned about tapping into faith, persevering while reversing course, and decreasing the level of difficulty. (Genesis 22:17a, Genesis 18:13-15)
- Failed Emissions Test: We examined having a positive attitude, getting off the treadmill, and getting past obstacles in order to discover what is possible. (Psalm 34:1, James 1:2-4)
- Anchors Aweigh: We identified unforgiveness using Rick Warren’s blame, rehearsal, scoreboard, and reminder tests. (1 Corinthians 13:5, Matthew 18:21, 22)
- Learning the Easy Way: We discussed why mentorship requires genuine attentiveness, relentless candor, speedy acknowledgement, and continuous improvement. (Exodus 18:9, Exodus 18:20, 21)
- Liquid Metal Power: We explored why solutions challenging the status quo need fresh insights focused on inexpensive components and low maintenance costs. (Romans 15:13, Zechariah 13:9)
I challenge you to make a formal list of outcomes you envision for 2022Q1. What habits can you establish in the next three months that would help you create a routine of regular refreshment and relentless perseverance-- at work and at home? (I can hardly express my gratitude for the community of support I have in our weekly Synergy Groups-- I learn so much from you and our Spirited conversations.)
